2024 Women’s Prize for Fiction

This morning we learned that Kate Grenville’s Restless Dolly Maunder did not win the 2024 Women’s Prize for Fiction after being shortlisted. Kate is a leading  light of Australian literature and is one of our country’s most internationally recognised authors. She is the only Australian to be shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for  Fiction twice, and became the only Australian ever to win the prize with The Idea of Perfection in 2001.

Being shortlisted for this prestigious international award is a tremendous accomplishment, and we’re so lucky to have the privilege of publishing Kate’s books. A huge  congratulations from all of us at Text, and congratulations also to V. V. Ganeshananthan, who won this year’s prize for her novel, Brotherless Night.
