It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Di Gribble, an iconic figure in Australian publishing and culture.
Below is an article that appeared in the Age on 23 August 1997, in the very early days of The Text Publishing Company:
You can read WH Chong’s moving tribute to Di here.
Publisher Michael Heyward will share his thoughts here soon.

What better way to have lived than as Di Gribble lived! To create ways of helping others create. To be good-humoured, tough-minded, warm-hearted, shrewd-eyed. To give a person faith in themselves when they have lost faith. To be honest in a world of people with two faces. There is no better standard for a life.
Hope I see you on the other side, Di.

Having worked for Text for 5 years in an admin role I found Di Gribble to be a wonderful "Boss Lady" and above all, a lovely human being. I've enjoyed reading about her achievements over the years. Never intimidating and always ready to listen .
RIP Di.
