Geoff Dyer's latest book, Jeff In Venice, Death In Varanasi, was awarded the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse prize for comic fiction, at the Guardian Hay festival last Friday.

The judges called Jeff in Venice 'a raucous novel' which 'summons up the spirit of Wodehouse', and said the author is 'a naturally funny writer'. Quite true, too—this novel is a scream. But it's much more besides. You can download a teaser from the book page to whet your appetite.
