Joy Cowley is one of New Zealand’s best‑loved children’s authors. She has won several awards for her books, including the NZ Post Children’s Book of the Year, twice, and the Margaret Mahy Medal. In 2011, Joy was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Joy lives in Wellington, New Zealand, but spends much of her time in the Marlborough Sounds.
